This guide will be brief about Stardew Valley Barn.

What Is a Stardew Valley Barn?

To put it simply, Stardew Valley Barn is just another farm building that is important for sheltering animals, and in fact, it can be purchased and upgraded from Robin at the carpenter’s shop. It will take you around 3 days to build if you are looking to purchase from Robin and 2 days if you are looking to upgrade your barn.

If you are worried about limited farm space, then you are in luck as it won’t take any extra space other than the fixed 7×4 space of your farm, even if you upgrade your barn. Your Stardew Valley barn shelters animals like goats, cows, sheep, pigs, and ostriches. Once you have unlocked your animal by building the needed barn, you can place that animal in other non-upgradable barns that you have built.

Stardew Valley Barn Animals

Barn animals can get stuck at night if you close the barn door. On the next day, they automatically come inside the barn but their mood will be all grumpy. Animals who are stuck outside at night are also subject to wild animals attack which has a 50% chance. The normal algorithm that the game generates is a random number between 0 and 1. The number is compared to how many numbers of barn you have on your farm. As a result, the more Stardew Valley barn buildings you have, the less likely each building will be attacked. For instance, a barn building has a 50% chance of being under attack if you have 2 barn buildings and a 25% chance if you have 4 barn Stardew valley buildings in total.
